"Moulin Rouge! The Musical" arrives in Mexico City

The energy and romance of late 19th-century bohemian Paris will invade the National Auditorium with the arrival of “Moulin Rouge! The Musical.” The production, recognized with 10 Tony Awards® in 2021, will make its Mexico City debut from September 24-28 as part of its successful North American tour.

Based on Baz Luhrmann's acclaimed 2001 film, this theatrical show captures the essence of a dreamy era of excess. The play tells a passionate love story between Moulin Rouge star Satine and young writer Christian.

The musical stands out for its impressive soundtrack, which spans 160 years of music, from timeless classics to contemporary hits, and includes unforgettable songs from the original film. The cast, led by Arianna Rosario as Satine and Jay Armstrong Johnson as Christian, features more than 30 artists on stage. Direction by Alex Timbers, a book by John Logan, and choreography by Sonya Tayeh ensure a first-class production.
